The Gresini Racing team, which is supported by Federal Oil , still has a chance to win the world title with its driver, Enea Bastianini .
Bastianini, who started from 15th position, managed to provide fierce resistance. The Italian rider finally finished in fifth position.
Despite finishing fifth, Bastianini admitted that he was not very satisfied even though the competition was getting tighter in the 2022 MotoGP World Champion title.
Rider number 23 regretted starting from a position that was quite far away, as the qualifying session was blocked by other racers."It turned out to be an exciting race, if the starting position was better it could be more helpful.
Even though it's only two positions in front, it will likely affect the race," said Bastianini, in his official statement.
Bastianini revealed the other side of his happiness, namely the Ducati Desmosedici GP21 motorbike that could accelerate to the top five."To be able to improve the position and this is encouraging and pocketing important points in the standings. We can still chase the World Champion title and it's still not over because there's still a chance.
Now we will face the Malaysian MotoGP and we will fully focus on doing our best,” said Bastianini, who will move to the factory Ducati team Lenovo next season.
Meanwhile, his teammate, Fabio Di Giannantonio , who will stay at the Gresini Racing MotoGP next year is only able to finish 20th in the Australian MotoGP.The racer who is familiarly called Diggia could not do much at Phillip Island, after the start he was able to improve his position.
Unfortunately, on the fourth lap he was pushed wide and made him retreat to the back row, thus racing alone on the track until the finish.
"It's a pity, even though we have got a good setting with the bike. We can show in the first three laps and the start is also good. Unfortunately, at Turn four during the fourth lap, Cal Crutchlow hit me and sent me to the side of the track.
After that, the race is over," said Diggia.Federal Oil Brand General Manager Rommy Averdy Saat, said the results in this series were surprising because Bastianini managed to show his best talent by finishing in the top five positions.
"This is a good collaboration from the riders and expert recommendations from the mechanic team in preparing a bike that can fight on a circuit with a challenging layout and strong winds," he said.
Rommy hopes that these two riders can take advantage of the last two series, namely in Malaysia on October 23, and in Valencia on November 6.
